In such an intense, fast-paced, and physically demanding sport, medical care goes beyond simply treating injuries; it&#039;s part of a comprehensive approach to prevention, performance, and a safe return to play.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ice hockey exposes athletes to specific stresses: shoulder injuries, knee injuries, concussions, muscle injuries related to explosive changes of direction, and also joint overload due to repeated matches and training sessions. The physician&#039;s role is to anticipate these risks, optimize physical preparation in close collaboration with coaches and staff, and ensure rapid and appropriate decision-making in acute situations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the field, responsiveness is essential. Knowing how to immediately assess the severity of an injury, deciding whether to resume play or remove the player from the game, while keeping the athlete&#039;s long-term health in mind, represents a true medical and ethical challenge. Outside of matches, longitudinal monitoring of players allows for the individualization of prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation strategies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This experience in sports medicine applied to hockey also enriches daily clinical practice.
