Born in Kraljevo, Serbia, Dr. Jovanovic earned her medical degree from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Medicine. She soon came to Switzerland to complete her postgraduate training. After obtaining her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Lausanne in 1996, under the supervision of Prof. R. Mayer, she obtained the FMH specialist title in general surgery. Passionate about small structures and a perfectionist, she discovered microsurgery and its use in hand surgery. It was in this field, in which she later obtained the specialist title, that she also discovered wrist pathologies. Thus, logically, she further trained in wrist surgery and arthroscopy, a technique she still practices regularly. Another facet of Dr. Jovanovic is her aesthetic side. As a surgeon, it was in plastic surgery that she could best express herself. It is logical that she completed a 3rd postgraduate training and obtained the title of specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Aside from internships, particularly in Paris and Athens, she completed most of her training in French-speaking Switzerland. After working for several years as Chief Physician at the Longeraie Permanence, training future specialists, she set up a private practice in 2006 within the framework of the CCMEL with Dr. N. Favarger. She operates in the Cecil and Bois-Cerf clinics where she performs hand surgery, wrist surgery, open or arthoscopic, as well as plastic and aesthetic surgery. With an interested and open mind, Dr. Jovanovic does not neglect other approaches, even non-surgical ones, that can help and relieve her patients. After discovering in Slovenia the benefits of carbon dioxide used during a kind of "dry thermal cure", she set up a carboxitherapy center in Lausanne, a first in Switzerland. The results of this complementary treatment, which, thanks to the increase in tissue oxygenation, has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, are very promising in patients suffering from pathologies, rheumatic, algoneurodystrophy (or Südeck's disease), chronic pain due to polyneuropathy, arterial insufficiency as well as pain linked to sports trauma or post-operatively.
