FELLOWSHIPS PROGRAMME

Medicol is an organization that brings together more than 30 doctors specializing in musculoskeletal disorders in order to promote the training of health professionals, network their skills and thus improve the medical care of patients.

The Clinique Bois-Cerf is specialized in orthopaedics and is part of Hirslanden, the leading private hospital group and the largest medical network in Switzerland.

Medicol and Clinique Bois-Cerf, in partnership with their training doctors, is developing a fellowships programme for in-depth training in orthopaedic surgery. This programme includes the following benefits for fellows:

Fellowship in shoulder surgery

Trainer surgeon: Dr. Steve Brenn

Dr. Steve Brenn performs more than 250 arthroscopies and 40 shoulder prostheses per year. He practices the latest surgical techniques in shoulder surgery and continues to update his knowledge through courses in Europe and the USA. The coaching programme he has developed for his patients, as well as his pre and post-operative evaluation programme, contribute to the success of his operations. His teaching, with about 100 supervised arthroscopies a year, leads the fellow to be autonomous in these surgical techniques.

Wishing to share his qualities and make use of his teaching capacity, he wants to transmit his knowledge and benefit young orthopaedists from his experience. Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

Conditions

  • Have completed at least a 5-year postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal trauma.
  • Be in the process of obtaining the title of specialist or in possession of a Swiss or recognized MEBEKO title of specialist in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Have a good command of French (certified level) and knowledge of English.
  • Swiss nationality or EU / EFTA.

Activites

  • Participate and assist the ambulatory activity and surgical management of patients.
  • Guarantee the quality of care for outpatients and inpatients.
  • Participate in clinical and scientific research.
  • Contribute to the realization of symposia and medical meetings.
  • Cooperate on writing scientific texts for publication and communication.

Skills

  • Advanced surgical capabilities.
  • Good computer skills and ease in administrative management.
  • Ability to integrate into a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Sense of responsibility.
